LEADERS IN OUR COMMUNITIES
The Fog of War is something that everyone experiences, whether or not you have served in the military. Most of us have heard this phrase in reference to the confusion induced by combat but not many of us truly understand the deeper meaning behind it. We live in a chaotic and ever-changing world in which finding direction is extremely difficult, whether you’re a student in high school or college, in the military, or a professional in a certain industry. The fog of war represents the battles that each and every one of us face today as we navigate the uncertain waters of our lives. The Junior SEALs program is designed and intended to give students in high school the tools they need to navigate the uncertainty of their lives and succeed in every aspect of their lives.
Most importantly, this program is not about a competition, college, the military, or finding a six-figure salary, rather, the Junior SEAL teams teach six elements, or as we like to call principles, to base our lives so we can navigate through this fog of life and lead others to do the same. By no means are these principles revolutionary ideas. These are ancient principles that have been embraced by leaders, innovators, and coaches alike to succeed for centuries, yet they are largely ignored in our communities and society. We like to call these strategies the 6 Elements of Life. Mastery of these 6 elements is essential to becoming successful in every area of life, whether personal or vocational.
Our mission is to empower students in the area to develop the leadership skills required to become successful in every aspect of life while giving back to their community. One way we like to start is with Admiral McRaven’s University of Texas Commencement speech. He outlines some of the fundamental principles that we encourage our students to master and live out every day.
I have never experienced such professionalism from young high schoolers. I would hire everyone of them after college if I could.
This program has changed my son tremendously. It helped him to excel inside and outside of the classroom
The communication skills I developed from this program helped me become a successful entrepreneur and global ambassador.
